I’m like that distant planet
So far away—
Spinning out of control.
I’m that distant planet,
Hurling towards the earth at a frightening speed,
Not sure where or when I’ll land.
This life is overwhelming
It’s hard not to just give up;
Lie down and die sometimes.
I don’t know how to bear the weight
That weighs on my shoulders
When it seems like it’s just me with a weight to bear,
I yearn for a helping hand.
We’re all just distant planets,
Orbiting around each other.
We’re all just distant planets,
Just rocks and gas all mixed together.
This isn’t right to say,
But I have the need to speak the truth.
I’m tired of hiding scared
From the animal inside of you.
We orbit so regularly,
Was it my fault that this is so?
My halo is my golden band.
Please don’t leave my side
The stress is killing me
The flow and ebb of ocean tide
Is calmer than my emotions seem
We’re all just distant planets,
Orbiting around each other.
We’re all just distant planets,
Floating out amongst the stars.
This is just who we are.
