Post Seniors: Sophie Locker

An illustration of Sophie Locker by Pearl McNames.

Most likely to absolutely destroy Ben Shapiro in a debate.

This has been Sophie’s first year on the staff of the Post, during which she has served as a writer. During her time on the Post, the piece she is most proud of is her Forum story titled “Welfare Queens, Temporarily Embarrassed Millionaires, and the Mythology of the American Poor,” though she adds that she greatly enjoyed covering The Atkinson Times. Sophie’s favorite place at Franklin is “that janitor office that has like 10 huge taxidermied animals in it.” Her plan for next year consists of “taking a gap year and making lots of art,” during which she says she’s looking forward to “exploring who [she is] outside of the high school environment! [She is] so excited for new opportunities and experiences.”
