Adriane is the whole package! She is an avid member of the Science Bowl and an OMSI volunteer. She even has a pet Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. For the last two years, these buddies have been living in a lovely symbiotic relationship. If you want to meet Sid the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach, stop by Ms.Whisnand’s Environmental Science class. Perry Overby

Perry is all business. Whether she is laying it all out on the softball field or working with Mr. Biamont in the Student Store, Perry is getting stuff done. She has been a dedicated member of the Franklin Business program for four years. She took her business prowess over to Providence Park, home of Portland’s beloved Thorns and Timbers. Here she has been working for two years, showing off the skills she learned from our very own Franklin.

Kaley belongs on the Franklin Post, from excelling in AP Literature with one of her favorite teachers, Elle Wilder, to spending every free moment writing fiction stories. She is an aspiring novelist, with some creative material in the works. When she isn’t scribbling out plot lines and developing elusive characters, she can be found diligently working at Ruby Jewel. She will be going to Beloit College to further her literary skills.

Maya Horten

Maya was new this year and absolutely hit it out of the park! She is a champion curler, participating in the Junior Curling Nationals. Maya also showed athletic skills on the soccer field. Playing for four years, she was named a team captain for her junior and senior years. On an educational front, she had extra appreciation for her AP Constitution class. She was a part of the Constitution team and a proud member of Unit 3. In the fall she will be an official Logger at University of Puget Sound.

Ben is one of the most qualified members of our staff, being an expert on almost every corner of the interwebs. His resume includes Northwest Advanced Programing Workshop, Cyber Discovery camp, Career Days at puppet laboratories and Elemental Technologies, a Manufacturing Career Day, and Code Day for the last three years. He will be attending Oregon State University this fall.
Lucy Shadburne

Lucy has been a dedicated reporter since she began at The FHS Post. With a positive attitude and an aptitude for leadership, Lucy accomplished a lot while at Franklin. She has interviewed several prominent community members from Senator Jeff Merkley to news anchor Laurel Porter. She also spent a summer interning for Kate Brown. Lucy will be attending University of Oregon next fall.

Abby Watters
Sports Editor
Abby loves watching NBA games and got to transfer that knowledge to The Post this year. When she is not catching a game she can be found at the Center for Movement Arts. Abby has been dancing for 12 years, dabbling in ballet, modern, jazz, and many other styles. An avid nature lover, Abby was part of Earth Club for four years, serving as President in her senior year. Abby is very excited to travel many places in her future, starting this fall at Western Washington University.

Anna Marè

Anna has been a committed member of the Franklin community since the start. In the summers she works as a lifeguard at the local pool. As a freshman Anna joined Track, Cross Country, Earth Club and the Advanced Scholar Program. She stuck with all of these for the entirety of her four years. Through her dedication to running, she earned Varsity for both Cross Country and Track as a freshman. In her senior year she was a team captain for both sports! Anna will be attending University of Oregon in the fall and will be rocking that green and yellow.
