I shall never forget
I shall never forget all the boys and girls that go to bed hungry because they couldn’t eat their dinner, because they had to throw up their dinner, because they didn’t feel like they could eat it or keep it down because “they aren’t good enough”
I shall never forget all the boys and girls that wear long sleeves and long pants because they can’t show the scars on their arms and legs, the scars they gave themselves because “they aren’t good enough”
I shall never forget all the boys and girls that sit there and can’t change their clothes because they can’t get up, because they don’t feel like getting up because “they aren’t good enough”
I shall never forget all the boys and girls whose faces are stained with tears because “they aren’t good enough”
I shall never forget all the boys and girls that can’t look in the mirror because all they see is hatred because “they aren’t good enough”
I shall never forget
so to all those boys and girls who think they aren’t enough, who ask themselves if they are enough
you are enough
you deserve that meal, to let those scars heal, to change your clothes and to wipe those tears, to look at yourself and see beauty and love.
you are enough
